Adult Education

Fourth Presbyterian offers a wide range of adult education.  Church school is every Sunday at 10:00 am, between both worship services.  Anyone is welcome to join a class at any time.

INQUIRER'S CLASS: Session Room

This five-session class meets in the Session Room and is designed to introduce the this congregation and the Presbyterian Church and its history, form of government,and Reformed Theology to those who are seeking to know more about this expression of the Church of Jesus Christ.  Those persons feeling the call to unite with this congregation of God’s people are highly encouraged to attend these sessions. CHRISTIAN TOPICS: Room 23

“Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations”

Focusing on the five core practices of fruitful congregational life, this class discussion is centered around community practices that include Radical Hospitality, Passionate Worship, Intentional Faith Development, Risk-taking Mission and Service, and Extravagant Generosity.  Jan Welch, Leader

 

BIBLE & THEOLOGY: Room 25

“The Book of Isaiah”

This eleven week study consists of an overview of the entire Book of the Prophet Isaiah paying special attention tothe message communicated in each of the three contexts in which the book waswritten: Isaiah 1-39; 40-55, and 56-66. Teachers for the class are: Bill Sibley & Trish Gwinn, Teachers

“The News and the Good News”

This member-led discussion class will be guided by significant events from the Gospel of John as they examine various issues of current interest in the media. Each week we will delve into questions of how we as Christians approach various issues, all the while letting the narrative of the gospel serve as our connecting backbone.
