Before coming here in 1991, Dr. McSween served churches in
Dr. McSween is the moderator of the Committee on Ministry in Foothills Presbytery. He serves on the Board of Trustees of Presbyterian College and is vice-chair of the Academic Affairs Committee. He chaired the PC Commission on what it means to be a church related college, served on the committee to rewrite the covenant between the college and the Synod of South Atlantic, and the committee to revise the Christian Education major at PC. He has served on the Board of Advisors of the
Dr. McSween is the author of a number of articles in the Journal for Preachers, has served as an editor-at-large for the Presbyterian Outlook, and has had two essays published in Eerdmans Press' series Theological Voices from the Pastorate, "The Bible's Master Story," and "Overcoming Our Reality." He has an essay in Loving God With Our Minds (Eerdmans Publishing) and two essays in The Power To Comprehend With All the Saints--The Formation and Practice of a Pastor-Theologian (also by Eerdmans). Two of his sermons have receive national recognition, including one which received the HarperCollin's award as the outstanding sermon in the "Doctrinal/Theological" category and was published in Best Sermons--Vol 7.
