The Thornwell Home for Children in Clinton, South Carolina, has been taking care of children and youth in need since its founding on October 1, 1875. With the support of Presbyterian Church (USA) congregations and private donations, the home nurtures more than 100 children, many of whom suffer from mild to moderate emotional problems stemming from the death of parent(s); a separation or divorce resulting in a temporary inability to care for a child; a temporary financial and/or physical inability to care for a child; families experiencing types of dependency or abuse; and parent's/guardian's disabling health or advanced age. One of the most successful homes for children of its type, the care of Thornwell's residents is based on sound Christian principles and a warm, loving cottage atmosphere staffed by Family Teachers dedicated to providing the finest in Christian development.
Presbyterian College

"The compelling purpose of Presbyterian College, as a church-related college, is to develop within the framework of Christian faith the mental, physical, moral, and spiritual capacities of each student in preparation for a lifetime of personal and vocational fulfillment and responsible contribution to our democratic society and the world community." Presbyterian College was founded in 1880 by the Rev. William Plumer Jacobs, an early minister of First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, S.C. The college was a response to the educational and social needs of local Civil War orphans, a ministry that coincided with the founding of Thornwell Home for Children a few years earlier. Fourth Pres participates in many partnerships with PC including Celtic Cross (PCUSA leadership development program), the Board of Church Advisors, and Lilly Globalization Project. Members of Fourth Pres have also served on PC’s Board of Trustees.
Furman Campus Ministry

Foothills Presbytery, with the support of Presbyterian Churches of Greenville County, has organized the Furman PCUSA Campus Ministry Support Team and its ministry, the Presbyterian Westminster Fellowship (PWF). The primary purpose of the PWF at Furman is to reach out in Christian love to the college community, bringing them by word, example, and Christian ministry to the good news of God’s saving grace through Jesus Christ.
Forman Christian College

Forman Christian College was founded in 1864 by Dr. Charles W. Forman, a Presbyterian missionary from the USA to what is today Pakistan. The college motto, "By love, serve one another " has been a guiding principle for Formanites throughout its history. During the time of partition, the college converted two hostels into a hospital for refugees, thus starting United Christian Hospital. During the 1905 Kangra Valley earthquake, Dr. J.C.R. Ewing organized and led the relief effort. Similarly, the college did devoted relief work for survivors of the Quetta earthquake, this time under the leadership of Prof. Jaqun Nath. In 2005, FCC again showed its devotion to service by organizing relief drives and fund-raising events for victims of the October earthquake
