 VACATION CHURCH SCHOOL - JULY 25-29, 9:00-12:00      

Our theme this year is “SHAKE IT UP CAFÉ” where we will have lots of fun stirring up heaping helpings of Bible stories and festivals, doing fun crafts and science experiments, hands on mission work and singing along to the great music. VCS promises to be a fun filled week of fellowship and fun!

We will have decorating Days at the church in July on Saturday, July 16, 1:00-4:00 and on July 23, 9:00-12:00. We will be working on various do a head projects, so if you are in town, we would love to have your help!

WE HAVE SEVERAL MISSION PROJECTS PLANNED FOR THIS WEEK, SOME NEAR AND SOME FAR.

We are “soup”-er excited to be partnering with RICE BOWLS! Rice Bowls is an amazing organization that provides food to orphanages around the world.  Take a look at their website www.ricebowls.org  and find out more!  Our rice bowls have arrived! Please pick yours up from our mascot, Scraps, the raccoon by the elevator. Also please take one of the small cards explaining who they help.  Each child that has registered is encouraged to pick up a bowl and collect change for the next month.  The Rice Bowls need to be returned during the week of VCS.   This is a great way for children (or kids at heart) ,who have camps or vacations and are unable to attend VCS, to participate in a Shake It Up Cafe event!

As many of you know, our church has delighted in participating in the construction of a Habitat for Humanity house this year.

Children & volunteers are encouraged to bring in pantry items (anything from canned & non-perishable goods, pots & pans, to dishtowels) to help "STOCK THE PANTRY" for Habitat families.

Items will be collected and delivered on Friday by our Service Squash (As our 4^TH & 5^TH graders will be called).

…The Service Squash will be visiting & volunteering at different locations throughout the week and would appreciate donations of some extra items if you are able. Monday they will be visiting the Humane Society and will be taking old newspapers. Please bring these to church ahead of time and place in the plastic bin. They will also be going to Triune Mercy Center on Wednesday to help and would like some canned and dry food items to stock their pantry as well.

Thank you for helping us to help so many organizations in need.

CD’s are available for purchase in the church office. Each CD is $5 and they include great computer games and music to get you and your children ready and excited for VCS! Get yours today!

Vacation Church School is beginning to gather items to decorate with the week of VCS, July 25-29. We are looking for small appliances (they don’t have to work), Bar stools, Patio umbrella and stand, chalkboard easel and a café’ table and chairs. Please call Donna if you have any of these items that we can borrow for VCS. Thanks!
